"The app itself is okay, honestly..."
The app itself is okay, honestly. I just wish the billing side was more straightforward. Canceling wasn’t super clear to me, and the charges kind of left me wondering what was going on.

"Drains my battery and keeps crashing"
I wanted to like this app, but it’s been really frustrating. My battery drains way faster whenever I use it (like noticeably fast), and it keeps crashing at random times. Not a great experience so far

"Garmin syncing is really frustrating"
I like Komoot when it’s working, but getting routes to sync with my Garmin has been way too unreliable. I’ve already had to reconnect my accounts twice this week, which gets old fast. it leaves me feeling more frustrated than excited to plan my next ride

"I do like the app and it works…"
I do like the app and it works well for what I need, but the yearly subscription doesn’t really feel worth it to me. That said, it’s not a bad app at all, I can see why some people would be happy with it, especially if they use it a lot.

"I use komoot mostly for hiking and…"
I use komoot mostly for hiking and bike rides, and overall it’s been handy. The map detail is good in a lot of places, especially on bigger trails and popular routes. That said, some smaller paths are missing or unclear, which can be a bit annoying. It works really well in cities and more popular outdoor areas, but out in quieter countryside I’ve definitely taken a few wrong turns. Still useful for planning, though some of the confusion feels unnecessary when you’re already out on the trail...

"Pretty annoying when you just want nearby routes"
Pretty annoying when you just want quick, relevant results. I was trying to find routes near my town, but the app kept showing me random options from way farther away. I tried messing with the filters too, but they didn’t really make things much better. It made a simple search feel way more frustrating than it needed to be

"Komoot really doesn’t spam me, which I..."
Komoot really doesn’t spam me, which I appreciate. I just get the occasional useful email about trips or routes, and notifications when I actually need them. It’s easy to manage too, so yeah, 5 stars from me.

"Great when it lets me in"
I really like Komoot when I’m actually logged in. The route planning is solid, and I’ve used it a bunch for rides, but ugh, the login stuff has made me want to throw my phone more than once. It randomly logged me out a few times, and then the password reset email either took forever or just never showed up.

Support wasn’t terrible, but it definitely wasn’t quick either, which is super frustrating when you’re in the middle of trying to plan a ride and just want the app to work. I wouldn’t call it useless at all, but right now it feels too unreliable for me to fully depend on

"Helpful for seeing what other people actually experienced"
I mostly use Komoot to look at routes other people have shared, that crowd input is one of the best parts. Compared to just checking a regular map, the photos and comments from other users give me a much better sense of what a trail is actually like, especially when it comes to smaller paths. I do still double-check things, because sometimes the info is a bit outdated or someone rates a route as easy when it really doesn’t feel easy to me. But overall, it’s been really useful for planning rides and walks.

"GPX Import Works Well, and Export Does the Job"
I’ve been using the GPX import feature and it works perfectly fine for my needs. The export option also works as expected, though it could be a bit faster. Overall, it’s reliable and gets the job done without much hassle.

"Updates feel hit or miss"
komoot’s still solid for planning rides, but lately some updates have moved stuff around and made a few features harder to find. It also gets a bit buggy after changes. Not a bad app at all, just wish updates felt more tested before launch.

"Sharing routes feels more complicated than it should"
I was just trying to send a route to a friend so we could plan a ride together, and it turned into more of a hassle than I expected. The sharing options didn’t feel very straightforward, and a couple of times they either couldn’t open the link properly or weren’t sure what they were supposed to do with it.

Maybe it works better if everyone is already using Komoot in the exact same way, but for me it wasn’t smooth at all. I ended up just sending screenshots, which kind of defeats the purpose. It was frustrating for something that should be simple.

"Phone and laptop syncing just works"
I usually plan my bike routes on my laptop since it’s just easier with the bigger screen, and then when I’m about to head out, I open komoot on my phone and the route is already there. No emailing myself files, no weird extra steps, no wondering if it saved properly... it just shows up.

I also like that if I tweak something on my phone, it’s there later when I check on desktop too. It’s one of those small things that doesn’t seem like a big deal until you realize how much hassle it saves. Easy 5 stars from me..

"Super Easy to Navigate"
I was really happy with how easy the routes were to find. Everything felt simple and stress-free, which made the whole experience much more enjoyable.

"I tried using komoot to plan what…"
I tried using komoot to plan what was supposed to be a simple bike ride, but it kept sending me onto busy roads and random gravel paths. I ended up checking Google Maps the whole time anyway, which kind of defeats the point. i wouldn’t rely on it for routes.

"I’ll be honest, komoot is actually good..."
I’ll be honest, komoot is actually good for planning routes. Like, there is absolutely no question that it does the basic job well most of the time, and I’ve used it without too much trouble for walks and rides.

But the privacy stuff? Yeah, I’m completely convinced it’s weaker than it should be. It asks for and holds onto a lot of data, and the settings are not nearly as clear as they need to be. Trying to delete or manage old activity data had me clicking around way more than any normal person should have to.
For an outdoor app, location history is seriously personal. I know that for sure. I just wish komoot made it way easier to see what’s saved, control it, and delete it without feeling like I’m solving a puzzle. Good app overall, but this is a big enough issue that it’s 2 stars from me

"Great idea, but it let me down on rides"
I really wanted to like Komoot because it seems perfect for the kind of weekend bike rides I do around my area, but the navigation just hasn’t been reliable for me. A couple of times it sent me onto closed paths or missed turns completely, and I ended up pulling out Google Maps to figure out how to get back on track. That’s especially frustrating when you’re already tired and just want to finish the ride without extra hassle.

"The elevation profile really let me down"
I planned a ride on Komoot thinking the climb was going to be manageable, because that’s what the elevation profile made it look like. Then I got out there and it was way steeper and dragged on much longer than expected. It completely threw off my timing and energy, and I felt kind of stuck dealing with the consequences of bad info. Now it’s hard for me to trust it when I’m planning a route I don’t already know

"Good when it works, but offline maps let me down"
I’ve used Komoot a few times before and generally liked it when everything loads properly, but the offline maps have been hit or miss for me. On my last ride, I made sure to download the route before heading out, but once I lost signal, some sections still wouldn’t load right. I ended up stopping to figure out a couple of turns and basically had to guess, which isn’t ideal when you’re out on a bike. It might be fine around town, but after this experience, I don’t really trust it much for more remote routes
